CRU Educational Camps have unique access to the CRU campsites at Lake Macquarie and Galston Gorge. Our familiarity with these campsites will maximise your camp experience.

Lake Mac

CRU’s Lake Mac Outdoor Recreation Centre is situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie – just one hour north of Hornsby. The campsite’s waterfront location makes it the ideal spot for water-based activities like sailing, canoeing and fishing – great for both primary and secondary school activity camps – as well as leadership and discipleship camps. Its peaceful location is conducive to reflection, promoting both personal and spiritual growth.

Activities: Canoeing, sailing, abseiling, fishing, orienteering, bivouacs, archery, swimming pool, rock climbing, half court basketball, beach volleyball, games oval and more.

Galston Gorge

The Galston Gorge Conference and Recreation Centre is conveniently located only 15 minutes from Hornsby. The Centre has modern lodge accommodation, ensuite bathrooms, a teachers’ only lounge area with fireplace, new dining facilities and multiple spaces for group meetings. Its broad range of activities and delicious dining make it a perfect venue for your next camp.

Activities: High ropes, indoor rock climbing, abseiling, low ropes, 20 metre swimming pool, BMX, beach volleyball, indoor & outdoor basketball courts, bushwalking tracks, games oval, campfire & amphitheatre, bivouacs and more.

Want to run your camp at a different campsite?  No worries! Whilst the CRU Educational Camps team primarily operate camps at CRU’s campsites, we frequently run camps at a variety of locations across NSW and the ACT to suit your aims and budget. Possible camp locations include: Arcadia/ Canberra/ Collaroy/ Crosslands/ Mittagong/ Stanwell Tops/ Tahmoor/ Toukley/ Winmalee/ Yarramundi.
